fungi lives on…

Fungi is the infamous solitary dolphin that lurks around the mouth of Dingle harbour. Where did he come from and why did he stay? Who really knows. I always assumed he was part myth (for the tourists) or some rubber prop (ala JAWS) towed behind a boat but according to the skipper of the Lady Laura, it’s the same dolphin out there for the past 24 years…

Instead of all the usual locations for photographs, Nikki & Colm booked a boat trip to go and find him. A bit brave for November but very enjoyable and well worthwhile.

Kilts and castles

Kilts are always colourful and fun for a wedding and Ross Castle in Killarney seemed to add to the theme of this Scots/Irish wedding.

Jeanette & Niall

A great young couple married at the ever popular Fossa Church recently with the reception at the Brehon Hotel in Killarney. Great first name on this groom and a very cool dress on this bride!

Kerry from the air

Up to now I have dodged helicopters but Kerry being the place that it is, I just had to go up on this one. I’d recommend it to anyone to take the chance if you get it as it really does give you a unique perspective on the countryside. It certainly helped in this wedding as we got three locations in as well as the trip back to the Hotel in about an hour - impossible any other way! That was followed up by a very good reception at the Ballygarry House Hotel in Tralee. This is one of the few hotels around that can cater for 300+ guests and still manage to get the food spot on.

Kathryn & Roberto

Back to Gougane again with another great couple from London. A good day in the sunshine in west Cork with the reception back in the Malton hotel in Killarney. This hotel has had a change ownership and name recently but it looks as good as ever and the service is excellent.

Bunratty

I headed for Clare for the photographs of this Castletroy wedding party. With the reception in the adjacent Bunratty Castle Hotel, the Folk Park in Bunratty is a great place to spend a half hour before the drinks reception. If you haven’t visited, you should take the family. The management there have put a huge effort in to re-create an old Irish village with lots to see and of course re-storing the castle itself.

Anne Marie and Donal were great on the day - a very relaxed and enjoyable wedding.
