jason + jessie

A family wedding is always a big event to look forward to, unless you are the photographer! To be fair, I don’t think I’d like anyone else doing this one though as I wanted to do my bit to ensure it all went smoothly.

Jason is my brother-in-law. He is also the man that dragged me up Carrantouhill (and off the dance floor when I had a few too many…). He is the heart and soul of any get together and in Jessie he has found someone to keep all fires burning. Here are some random shots from the day:

It was fun!

The two J’s

June and July are always very busy months for any photographer so excuse the lack of posting lately…

I’ve put up a little show of my favourites for those two months here

I’m off now to call on the rain gods once again…

May…

May is one my favourite months of the year. Not sure why, it just is. This is my favourite shot from the month:

I like it because the light was perfect for this spot and although I prompted Siobhan and David in to this position, the expression came naturally (as it should!!). Other than that, it was taken during a downpour which made it that bit sweeter!

I’ve also put up a little show with show of my other favourites from the month here.

Month of April

Summer is finally on the way! Well at least the bright evenings anyway. I love studying the work of photojournalists and photographers from the last century. I have a great book of images by Elliott Erwitt. He did his best work before I was born with a fantastic eye for the unusual as well as the humorous side of life. What often seemed to be simple images had hidden meaning often missed at first glance. I’d like to think if he was around Ballyseede Castle on this day that he would not have missed this image (my personal favourite of the month)!

Here are some other favourites from my April weddings:

email up again

My e-mail and contact form are now up and running once again. If you have sent any e-mails on Tuesday 1st or Wednesday 2nd April, please re-send now. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

new website up but email down…

My new website finally went live today. An overhaul was long overdue but I’ve kept it as simple and clean looking as possible and hopefully it is now an easier viewing experience. The blog still needs some work to bring it up to date but I’ll get there with that shortly.

As with all things technical, the last hour is always the hardest! My e-mail is currently down and I expect it to be so for 24-48 hours while I have the new server addresses sorted. If you need to contact me before then, please call me on +353 87 0573438.

In the meantime have a look!                  http://www.niallmcgann.com
