New Partner!

It’s official - my partner in life is now also my partner in our newly formed business partnership.

Things have moved up a gear this year and Michelle has really helped to rein in the admin and behind the scenes side of things. If truth be told she has always helped out but this new division of duties has really helped me to put more focus back in to the photography.

I must admit I’m a bit of a control freak (!!) and find it hard to let go of certain things but at least now, I can spend more time on developing new ideas and approaches, put more time in to the technical and creative side of things and push on with producing the best quality output.

Speaking of which, I must get on and post some of the latest work!

PHOTO PRO magazine feature

I’ve always found professional photography magazines to be a great source of inspiration and advice. The April edition of Photo Pro magazine featured me in an extensive article, so hopefully I can give back by providing inspiration to others!

Photo Pro is one of the most respected and widely circulated professional photography magazines on the market and I’m thrilled to be featured alongside some of the top photographers in business today.

The topic is destination weddings – or simply going abroad to shoot weddings. This is something I intend to do more of, so if your wedding is anywhere outside of Ireland or if you intend to go abroad to get married, I’d be delighted to discuss how I might fit in to those plans.

Wall Art

Over the past year I’ve been working on a project to document landscape elements, nature and man-made objects in my own semi-abstract style. Over the course of 2009, I hope to release the first set of prints and canvas for sale.

It’s a slow process and I’m nowhere near ready yet but this is my favourite so far. Any comments welcome to niall@niallmcgann.com

Dee + Dave

My final wedding for 2008 was another of my wife’s siblings. Dee’s turn this time around - she makes me feel very old as I remember her giggling when she was only 12 when I used to call around to take out her older sister…how times change!

Well done Dee - never thought I’d see the day…

Year end

I can’t believe it’s the end of another year - things move so fast these days! It’s been a great year for me and things have moved on nicely from where I left off last year. I’ve just finished updating my main site with some of my favourite shots from this year, including short extracts of two of my favourite weddings this year.

I still have one more wedding to go this year before taking it easy over Christmas (for a change…). 2008 starts early for me - back in Kenmare for a New Years Day wedding - can’t wait!

All that’s left to say is thank you to all the couples that graced my lenses this year and those that booked me for next year and beyond.

Be happy, safe and take it easy over the festive season.
